How do I back off a little bit in a committing relationship?

How to back off.. if I love my BF so much, I already believe we're so close to getting engaged, he has said he will get me a ring when he saves up for it. I'm just impatiently waiting - not good. Sometimes I get paranoid about our relationship when it's going decently well. We're loyal and trusting I know all his friends. I don't want to be a too crazy GF, anybody experienced in this? please include your age and current relationship. thank you
