What am I to do when my boyfriend acts like a HUGE jerk?

Everytime my boyfriend of 4 months and I get into a big argument he stops calling and texting. This leads me to think that he doesnt care. Im the type who likes to work things out as soon as possible (he knows this) we dont fight often but ive noticed when we do he kinda likes scooting things under the rug which has me asking does he even care about how I feel & what im saying? Or am I just waisting my time
